WEBINAR: The Financial Domain of Military Operations:  Transforming from a Financial “Analyst” to a Financial “Operator”

CPE Available: 1.0

This event explores a thought-provoking application of Financial Personnel, Processes, Information and Systems to support operational elements in non-traditional ways that protect military operations, facilitate opportunities, and provide additional value to the military services.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the Financial Domain underpinning Military Operations and apply it to day-to-day Financial and cross-staff functions & planning – beyond traditional Financial Operations.
  • Comprehend the impacts and vulnerabilities of financial information and fiscal operations for both friendly and adversarial forces.
  • Comprehend the difference between ‘offensive’ and ‘defensive’ concepts for financial operations.

Learning Outcome: The viewer recognizes the need to transition from a Financial ‘Analyst’ to a Financial “Operator”.  Participants take these perspectives back to their units and apply concepts learned.

ACAMS supported webinar concept: the 60-minute webinar is part slide presentation and part discussion/dialogue between two retired Army Financial Management Colonels with vast experience.  We will present the slides and concepts interspersed with conversation and first-person perspectives the emphasize the concepts.

Presenters:

  • Brian A. Smith, Retired U.S. Army Finance and Comptroller Colonel. Faculty Member and Lead Instructor for the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) as well as the CEO for Financial Ridgelines, LLC.
