Levels of Individual Membership
SDFM
Individual Membership
Persons who are or have been employed within the defense financial management field of the federal government or associated with it. The fee is $50 for one year or $120 for three years.
Individual Membership benefits include:
- Membership in one of 100+ global chapters
- Yearly subscription to Armed Forces Comptroller Journal
- Member savings on Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and CDFM-A (Acquisitions) certifications, recertifications and educational materials
- Member savings for the national Professional Development Institute (PDI)
- Complimentary CEUs through SDFM webinars and other professional development activities
- Networking and mentoring opportunities both in-person and via the SDFM online communities
- Participation in SDFM Awards Programs

Retiree Membership
Retiree Membership recognizes those SDFM members who are “fully retired” and no longer working in any other profession. Retirees remain dues paying members in order to continue to receive a print copy of the Armed Forces Comptroller journal. Retirees may request to be non-dues paying and receive online journal access only.
Lifetime Membership
Any individual member achieving 30 consecutive years of membership in SDFM qualifies for lifetime (non-dues Paying) membership, without any other stipulations.
Lifetime Membership benefits include:
- All the benefits of Individual Membership, except lifetime members receive only a digital version of the Armed Forces Comptroller (AFC) Journal. Lifetime members wishing to receive a print copy may do so for a nominal fee.
